Danceapply was born in 2018 when Jaehee Cho, the founder of Danceapply, assisted his wife, Eun Young Ahn, the Head of Curriculum and Student Division at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, with the audition process. He was surprised to see how outdated the system was—dancers were still using paper forms, printed photos, and cash for registration, which created an overwhelming workload for dance organizations.

After two years without a solution in sight, Jaehee began building a platform during the pandemic. What started as a small idea has since made a meaningful impact on the dance industry by streamlining the audition process and modernizing how dance organizations operate.
